Operation Write Home’s Design Boootcamp is teaching the ABCs of Color. The Color Theory and the traditional color wheel were the focus of today’s Bootcamp lesson.
I chose to color up an oldie but goodie. It is Penny Black’s Mimi Loves Paris stamp. What can I say? I have Valentine’s in the brain, or is it on the brain? Either way, I say bring on the chocolate!
I used Complementary colors to complete my homework assignment! (He-he! I am the teacher! It feels funny to be completing homework especially on my day off of school!) Anyways, complementary colors are any two colors which are directly opposite each other on the color wheel. I went with red and purple.
I stamped the image using Memento Midnight Paris Dusk ink. Paris! Get it? Sometimes, the littlest things amuse me. Not my normal black ink.
I used my Copic markers to color Mimi up.
Skin-E000, E00, E11, R20
Hair-E51,53,55
Reds-R27,29
Purples-V22, 25
Where else would you find a purple poodle??? I am guessing Paris!
So, there it is. Homework completed. What do ya think? Could you grade on a curve, please? Now, off to grocery shop. Ugh! I am thinking I would rather have another homework assignment!!!Happy MLK day!
Your homework assignment is fabulous! I love the complimentary colors together and your coloring is just lovely! Very fun card A+
Thanks, Jan! I’ll take the A+! π

Thanks, Misty! I am glad to have amused you. My principal always says that he feels better after spending a few minutes with me. Although my sense of humor has been known to get me in trouble now and then! π
So cute! Love the red and purple! And my goodness, all that fussy cutting!
Thanks, Julie!
Oh my is she ever adorable in her purple and red outfit and the way you popped her off the card against that fun background of Xs and Os… C’est Manifique! (I knew one day my high school French would come in handy π
