It’s Hair-Raising

It’s a hair raising challenge over in the Some Odd Girl community site.

20130608-133002.jpg
I colored up Shy Kaylee and oh, what fun it was to color her hair bluish-green.

20130608-133314.jpg
I colored Kaylee up with Copic markers using the following colors:
Skin-E000,00,21,R01
Hair-BG10,11,13,15,18
Other-YR63,65,68,C1,3,5

20130608-133542.jpg
The sentiment is a rubber stamp that reads: Like Crazy. This sentiment is appropriate because anyone who has blue hair as a little bit of craziness! To each their own! I had several students this year that paid big bucks to get their hair colored.

20130608-133738.jpg
I am off to enjoy my Saturday! Have a hair-raising weekend, my friends!
PS…don’t forget to stop over and vote. Odd Idol continues and the Top 10 will be whittled down to just 5! My scene is in there! Now, I just sit back and wait for the results!

Perfectly Pinkalicious! & DT call

Sassy Cheryl’s newest challenge #169 is Perfectly Pinkalicious! I just love that Sally, don’t you?!?
For this challenge, I colored up A Letter Sent with Love.

20130606-082102.jpg
I used Copic markers in the following colors:
Hair-E55, 44
Skin-E000,00,21
Outfit-R81,83,85
Shoes-W1,3,5
The sentiment is a rubber stamp and it reads: Snail Mail. I used the Cuttlebug to cut out the circles and it is distressed with Tim Holtz Ink Pads Spun Sugar. The paper comes from My Mind’s Eye {Love Me}. The sentiment is perfect because Sally is holding her cute little envelope sealed with a kiss. Don’t you wonder who she is mailing that letter to? A long distance love perhaps? How romantic…I am sending this card off to one of my former students who is now stationed with the army in Germany.

20130606-082544.jpg
Sassy Cheryl is having a DT call! I am absolutely positive that I meet all the requirements! Let’s see…
1. Must LOVE Sassy Cheryl images!–Uh. Hello?! I most certainly do!
2. Must be a positive role model and team player. –My principal says and I quote: “Boots (that’s me!), you are such a team player. You never say no and you always do what I ask of you. ”
Why yes. Yes, I do!
See,I am perfect for the job! And I’m not below begging on my knees! Ppppppllllllleeeeaaaaassssseeeeee!
If you search my site using the words Sassy Cheryl you can view some of my other cards I have made. And I included a few at the end of this post.

Summer and a DT call…

Summertime! The sole purpose for living! Okay… that may be a bit of an exaggeration but as a teacher, the thought of summer is what gives you hope to get through to the end of the school year!!!! Ha! The Squirrel and The Fox’s new challenge #45 is Summer or Winter…depending on your part of the world. S-U-M-M-E-R!!!!!!
I made this card for one of my adopted soldiers and it don’t get more summer-ish than Bikinis & Burgers!!

20130602-103810.jpg
This digital image is from Saturated Canary. Isn’t she the cutest?!? Krista is also sponsoring this current challenge.

20130602-104034.jpg
Strong and proud she is!
I colored her up using Copic markers. He-he! She’s mostly skin!
Skin-E000, 00, 21
Hair-E55, 44, 47
Other-R14, B24, E04

The Squirrel and The Fox are having a DT call. I am throwing my name in to be considered. I love making cards and coloring. I think being in a DT would be fun and challenging. Truthfully, I make cards because it relaxes me. It gives me something to do as I spend literally hours at sporting events! Plus, donating them to different organizations and using them to write weekly letters to my American Heros makes me feel like I am doing something good. That’s an added bonus!

20130602-104801.jpg
So, there is my summer inspired card for The Squirrel and The Fox.

A Big ‘Ole Post

Only 3 days of school left and I am panic stricken and running around like crazy trying to decorate and organize the last few details of the annual Talent Show….whew! And it’s hot! Too hot!
This week finished up a marathon of chaperoning fieldtrips. Yes, it is that time again. Say it with me…”s-u-m-m-e-r”. Ahhhh, summer! Three months of pure laziness! And cardmaking, of course!
Here are a few pics from this week’s adventures.(That’s me with the red tree frog. My fascination of taking my picture with inanimate objects lives on!) I escorted 6th graders to the Pittsburgh Zoo. 7th grade to Idlewild Park and 8th grade to The Carnegie Science Center and Kennywood Park.

20130602-061922.jpg
On Friday, I learned that my card over at Some Odd Girl’s Odd Idol contest made it to the Top Ten!!! The challenge was to color a SOG image the opposite of what you would think. I colored Pirate Kaylee in hot pink!

20130602-062616.jpg
The new challenge is to create a scene. I am still creating. If you get a chance, pop over to the Ning community site. Lots of inspiration. The Top Ten will be narrowed down to just 5! It’s excitingly nailbiting!!!!!
The new June sketch is up at SOG. Here is the sketch:

20130602-062908.jpg
Here is my take:

20130602-062938.jpg
This is Rocker Mae. I am going to enter this card into the new challenge over at Send a Smile 4 Kids. The challenge is Anything Goes for Kids. I think this image is just perfect for kids; the rock stars that they think they are!
Finally, Operation Write Home’s Sunday Sketch challenge #175:

20130602-094558.jpg
And my interpretation:

20130602-094637.jpg
I used a new fairy from Tiddly Inks. She is called Fairy Tenderhearted. The sentiment is a clear stamp from ditto. I think the sentiment matches perfectly!

20130602-095022.jpg

20130602-095255.jpg
Wow! This post is just as busy as my life right now! I am off to enjoy the rest of my Sunday! Have a great one, my friends!

Weekend Wrap-Up and OWH Sunday Sketch

First, let’s start with Operation Write Home’s Sunday Sketch #173
Here’s what it looks like:

20130519-110652.jpg
Here is my take:

20130519-110730.jpg
I colored up Some Odd Girl’s Mr. Pepper and Mrs. Salt.
I colored this sweet pair up using the following Copic colors:

Aren’t they adorable?!
The paper is from My Mind’s Eye and the sentiment bubble is from Recollections.

20130519-111602.jpg
I just wanted something easy to color up especially after I spent hours creating my next submission for Round 3 of Odd Idol. I mean hours! Phew!!!
That’s right! The Top 20 contestants have been narrowed down to 15! My card made Top 15! It is a blind vote and thanks to those who may have voted for me. Side note: I couldn’t even talk my kids into voting for me! 🙂
This was my card that I submitted for Round 2:

20130519-111733.jpg
The theme was friendship.
So, my Round 3 submission is made and ready to be submitted. The challenge/theme is to color a SOG image the opposite of what you think it would normally be colored. I am realistic in thinking that I will not win the competition but I am ecstatic that I made it to the Top 15! It was fun playing along regardless. Plus, I spent all day yesterday making a nice BIG mess in my crafty corner. Now, I must go clean it all up.
Have a wonderful Sunday, my friends.

Wryn

Tiddly Inks Challenge #110 is to use a Wryn!
That’s great…because I adore Wryn! She is one of my most colored and beloved digi stamps character. Just when I think I may own them all,a new Wryn is released. Ha! I must have her. It’s a Wryn addiction!
For this challenge, I colored up Close to My Heart Wryn.
Here is my card:

It really is a simple card that will be used as part of my Operation Write Home’s write a Hero Letter for everyday in May. Surprisingly, I have been up to date so far!
The rubber stamp sentiment on the front reads:LOVE

20130515-204902.jpg
And the inside is stamped: is all you need

20130515-204944.jpg
The card is from me&my big ideas Mambi Cards(size A6). They are neat! The Mambi cards are pre-scored and easy to use!
Well, that is all for now. I am off to color icecream Wryn!
Have a great evening, my friends!

Oh, you knew I had to fussy cut?! Of course! I am obsessed with fussy cutting! And you probably figured that I was going to use a SOG digi stamp?! Well, you know me too well!
I colored up Some Odd Girl’s Squeezey Hugs.

20130512-110601.jpg
Nothing fancy. Round 2 of Odd Idol voting is still happening here. If you have time, stop over and vote!
Finally, HAPPY MOTHER’s DAY!!!!! You would think that one of my 5 lovely children would have served me breakfast in bed. But….no! No breakfast in bed. I’m not bitter. Really, I’m not. Regardless, of my brood have a great one!

Banner Challenge

Kraftin’ Kimmie Challenge #177 is: It’s a Banner Day! I colored up Pippa Popcorn.

20130510-212817.jpg
I used Copic markers to color her up using the following colors:
Skin-E50,51,54
Hair-E3-,33,37
Popcorn-Y13,18,E31
Other-R14

20130510-212955.jpg
Kraftin’ Kimmie stamps are quickly becoming my favorites! The popcorn was so fun to color up and the popcorn bags came from Michael’s.

20130510-213126.jpg
The banner sentiment reads: You always pop up when I need you.
How cool is that sentiment?
We had one heck of thunderstorm blow through here tonight! Hail and trees knocked down. Flooding streets that forced me turn around and find an alternate route home. Not fun. So, I am a little behind in my cardmaking and posting.
Have a great weekend, my friends!!
